Crossing Point Technologies, a newly formed position sensing company specializing in smart actuators and linear displacement sensors, today announced the receipt of a Georgia Research Alliance (GRA) grant from the state of Georgia. The award was granted to further investigate the use of Crossing Point's Capacitively Coupled Position Transducer sensing technology for motion control and position feedback in industrial environments.
A model public-private partnership between Georgia universities, business and state government, the Georgia Research Alliance helps build Georgia's technology-rich economy through converting research into products, services and jobs that drive the economy.
Funds from the award will be used for continued product development on Crossing Point's Smart Actuators and Thinsense linear displacement sensors. Additionally, resources will be used to interact with perspective customers and distribution partners.
"We are grateful for the support of the Georgia Research Alliance. We have seen the initial promise of the technology, but now this award gives us the opportunity to transfer the technology out of the lab and into the real world," said Dave Beck, Chief Operating Officer.
