Position Sensor Prototype Surpasses Two Million Cycles

Crossing Point Technologies, an innovative linear displacement sensor and fluid power actuator company, announced today that the production prototype of the company's new Thinsense position sensor surpassed two million cycles in product lifetime testing.

Product lifetime is an important consideration in most fluid power and linear motion applications in areas such as industrial automation and aerospace. Indeed, incumbent technologies have extremely long lives and typically do not wear out before the parts to which they are attached.

"This is an important achievement for the company, as it demonstrates the robustness of our Thinsense products. Throughout our tests, the sensor continues to exhibit excellent linearity and repeatability, and we plan to keep running it to show just how far it can go," said Haihong Zhu, Chief Technology Officer.

Chief Executive Officer Mike Orndorff added, "We are very excited to have reached this milestone. Two million cycles is already more than some applications require. We have no reason to believe that this prototype won't be running flawlessly after 10 million more cycles."
