Haihong Zhu, Chief Technology Officer for Crossing Point Technologies, an innovative position sensor company specializing in smart actuators and linear displacement sensors, presented his groundbreaking technology today at the National Fluid Power Association's (NFPA) Fall Conference.

The NFPA is a forum where all fluid power channel partners -- manufacturers, distributors, suppliers, customers and educators -- work together to advance fluid power technology and to grow the fluid power industry. Companies in attendance included Parker, Festo, Sun Hydraulics, Clippard Instrument Laboratory, Bimba, Ross Controls, Rexroth Bosch Group, and MTS Sensors.

"It is a great honor to be able to share my work with some of the biggest names in fluid power. I was confident that by adding inherent sensing capabilities to hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders we would be able to offer a compelling control solution to the industry, but the response from future customers has definitely exceeded my expectations," said Zhu.

Interest in Crossing Point's technology was high. "When you can offer position sensing capabilities at a price point that is only double the cost of a normal cylinder, people will flock to your door," commented Paul Gant, International Sales Manager for Clippard Instrument Laboratory, Inc.
